Reckless Few 2004

Apparently it is quite possible to get your shit together and make it to a rally without f*cking something up! Apparently....

Well not me. Original plans (they're real good when you dream them up) was to head to the site for mid afternoon, take Proof that I should never have grown a beard! time to set up the tents, relax and get into party mood, speak to old friends make some new friends, photograph some of the bikes and generally chill. (If this sounds familiar, I screwed up getting to Stri Son Saorsa on time as well!)

This time I didn't get away until 6pm, then after stopping for petrol, going home to get wallet, stopping for petrol it started... the famous Aberbronx Monsoon! I was f'king soaked before I left Aberdeen, and had to meet Buddha and Brian in Ellon.

Suffice to say, by the time I got to Ellon, both Buddha and Brian were also soaked (how bad we found out later when Brian discovered his pre-history panniers were leaking like a seive!)

Anyway the usual routine was in place, park bike drink beer, pitch tent, drink more beer, speak to friends old and new, drink beer, go to the hall and drink beer!

The Friday night band were Cojo Mary, and were rather good and also had a good sense of humour, if you have ever seen Womble really drunk and dancin' you will understand what I mean. Our table was grace by the presence of NigeZX. A good laugh was held by all, and mostly at my expense! The photo above right should explain why I had difficulty telling the to feck off...

Saturday report

Most of the day on Saturday was a wash out fer me once again, as I was too bladdered on the Friday night... (No suprise there then), however, by 5pm, I was startin to feel human and had a beer... then everything was okay again! Met up with some of the Caramel Starfish crew, nice folks and had rather too many drinks with Trevor (see the blue harley in the pics below). Heard a rumour of some kind of a face off at the Hall, but by the time we got there it was all over. MAC Sabbeth were Saturdays band and from what I hear they did two sets, one a Black Sabbeth tribute, and the pther a normal rally band... didn't see any of it as I was a bit ill and went back to me tent... Sorry folks if you want to know more, you will have to see Bri's report when he writes it.... As for who won what... Buffaloes had best club turnout, NigeZX won best paint.... and I don't know the rest! Sorry!
