This
was a first for me... My very first Furry Boots!
Unfortunately
my usual luck held true and I could only get there for the saturday
night, and
looking
at the weather forecast, I think I was secretly glad of it... it
was absolutely bucketing down with rain (at least
it wisnae snow!). So Friday night came and went and I managed to
clear ma feet of most of my outstanding jobs and decided about
3pm time for Rallying!
I
managed to get a whole mile from the house in gorgeous sunshine
before the rain set in, and boy did it rain! Got there to Clatt
anyway and signed in whilst trying to get the water running off
me jacket not to spread across the signing in book!
Next...
look for a place to pitch up the tent. Made one of those all time
unforgettably stupid decisions of riding the bike through the mud
soup that passed for the bike path through the pitch, and low and
behold found my self at a dead end with no way to get turned. After
much swearing and toeing and froing and some help from a couple
of rally goers the 49 point turn was completed! YeeeeeeHhaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Eventually
found a pitch and the rain stopped for a few minutes (well enough
time for me to
get me tent up). That job done, had a wonder round
to see who was here! We had a massive club turn out of 2 me an
the Turratart. (Must get a photie o' ya to join the motley looking
buggers on the left).
As
a firm believer in the age old F3 tradition, ah had a wee beer
or three whilst wondering around looking for familiar faces! There
larger than life was on Bob the "Road Ratt". After admiring
more of his sterling paintwork on bikes and trikes around the field,
I retired to the bar once more.
First
band of the night were called Speedtrap. They were okay. Next up
was Joe's Band. Very good indeed, specially liked the fact that
it wasn't the usual "Rock Classics", though there was some in the
set.
I
have to say I really felt for the poor rally virgins christened
on the saturday night Aye! Right! ma sides
were sair we laughin! They took it well and I am sure there will
be better photos than mine tae remind them!
A
shorter than usual report because I was only there for a few hours
before oblivion set in! So thanks all fae Garioch MCC, a great
night and lookin forward tae the next rally... oh in four days
............. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHAAAAAAAAAA!
